On Friday 5 April 2019, Life Saving Chaplaincy Australia celebrated 21 years of Chaplaincy service to the Lifesaving communities in Australia and around the world with a lunch at the Broadbeach Bowls club.
The event was attended by around 50 guests, some traveling from different parts of Australia to be a part of the celebrations. Attending were some of the original group who prayed and supported Terry as he worked to see the Chaplaincy commence, as well as some members from the Southport SLSC, the first club to have a lifesaving Chaplain in Queensland. Many of our current Chaplains, Ambassadors, Patron, and supporters, both old and new, joined to celebrate this wonderful milestone for Life Saving Chaplaincy.
After Terry Legg, LSCA Founder and Russ Harmon, National Ministry Coordinator told stories of how it all started and how LSCA is such an important and respected part of lifesaving, Alan Whelpton AO, cut the cake.
All the guests were presented with a copy of the new 2nd edition of our Life Saving Bible as a heartfelt “thank you”, for being an integral part of Life Saving Chaplaincy Australia, and our ongoing vision to see a Chaplain in every Lifesaving Club in our nation.
