Sandy Penman

I became involved in SLS as an adult.

In 2001, my husband Dale achieved his BM whilst I completed my SRC  with the reasoning that I wouldn’t commit to patrols as we had 4 young sons to care for. In 2004 at the ripe old age of 41 I joined the ranks of being a fully fledged bronze medal holding life saver. I am very proud to be a Life Saver and count it as one of my greatest achievements. I went on to learn all the related skills and  now patrol, train and  compete for Mermaid Beach AEME SLSC. I also provide a support role to Dale in his role as Club Chaplain. I have a compassionate heart for the lost which cross-sections with a desire to see Christians equipped and mobile, out there in the community taking the Gospel to the world in a culturally appropriate manner.

“ I have great joy acting in an ambassador role for Life Saving Chaplaincy as they take their part in the Great Commission aka ‘taking the Jesus to the beach’.”
