Steve Stubbings

Council Chair

Steve is the National Ministry Development Director of Sports Chaplaincy Australia. He has been involved in chaplaincy in various sporting communities for over 20 years, serving as chaplain to Penrith Panthers Rugby League club, and then to the elite referees in soccer. He is committed to serving the community with the grace and mercy of Christ, and has been in various forms of community service for his adult life. Steve was trained as an architect, and is also an ordained Baptist minister.

Steve has been very happily married to Sue for almost 40 years. They have 4 children and 3 beautiful granddaughters. They currently live in south-west Sydney (yes, a very long way away from the surf – but they have an affinity with Thirroul Beach, having lived 100 metres from the beach for 5 years). He is looking forward to being a part of the journey of growing chaplaincy in the life saving community, and seeing chaplains serve those communities.
