The Lakes SLSC, NSW welcomes Sonya Cavanough as their Chaplain.

In his 10th year as Club President, Sean had asked us several years ago to help find the club a Chaplain when he meet Russ Harmon, National Ministry Leader at a Chaplaincy talk he gave to all the clubs in the Central Coast Branch. And in Sean’s word, “Sonya is our first…. And it is worth the wait.”
Although new to SLS,  Sonya has been on the Central Coast for over 40 years, “ so I’m a real local who loves living here!”
The club started on the 28 September 1953 and although it had a bit of a shaky start has continued to grow into a club that continues to play a vital role in ensuring the safety of visitors to Lakes Beach, with its volunteer members saving countless lives and providing expert First Aid to members of the public each year. They also have a very successful juniors’ program where they are developing the next generation of Volunteer Lifesavers.
We want to welcome Sean and all the members of The Lakes SLSC and Sonya to the Life Saving Chaplaincy Australia and wish them all the best.
